Description
Welcome to El Paso Community College, the fastest growing community college in the State of Texas and the largest grantor of associate degrees to Hispanic students in the nation! The mission of El Paso County Community College District is to provide educational opportunities and support services that prepare individuals to improve their personal quality of life and to contribute to their economically and culturally diverse community.
El Paso Community College (EPCC) offers more than 130 academic programs and more than 350 personal enrichment/ continuing education courses. We also offer cutting-edge technology, ultra-modern training facilities, and innovative learning options.
In addition to services that are now expected in community colleges; such as distance education, online courses, and dual credit; EPCC offers unique learning opportunities including Student Technology Services (a student run technology training program), Early College High School (where students earn an Associates Degree at the same time they are earning a high school diploma), and a new state-of-the-art model for delivering K-Gray education (including a 3-D holographic projection laboratory.)
The largest and most centrally located facility in the College District, Valle Verde, serves over 14,000 credit students each semester. The multi-level building features patios, trees, fountains, and grassy hills which enhance the relaxed learning environment.
Valle Verde is located at 919 Hunter, just south of the interstate at Hawkins and North Loop. It is the main location for all student services functions, including admissions, registration, financial aid and counseling. The largest of the libraries, bookstores, cafeterias and child care centers are also located here.
The Advanced Technology Center, the Americana Language Program and the inter- collegiate athletic program are located on the Valle Verde Campus.
The newest building is an instructional center which has 24 classrooms, an open computer laboratory of 100 stations networked with full Internet access, state-of-the-art laboratories for foreign language courses and English as a Second Language. There is also space for community interest non-credit classes, including floral arrangement and cooking. The Valle Verde Early College High School opened in the Fall 2007. VVECHS allows accepted students to earn an Associates Degree and High School Diploma concurrently.
