The primary mission of Everett Community College is to provide quality education in an atmosphere that encourages all students to achieve their educational goals. he college was founded in 1941 and currently enrolls over 8,000 students per quarter. Most students earn their associate degree in arts and sciences after two years of college, and then some transfer to a four-year college to finish their bachelor's degree. Courses EvCC offers can be tailored to specialized career majors such as programming, nursing, or accounting.

EvCC students are a variety of ages and come from diverse backgrounds: most are commuters, exchange students, or spouses and parents. In addition to traditional classroom courses, EvCC offers courses that can be taken online through the controversial Blackboard
Blackboard Inc.
