Our mission is to educate compassionate, competent, entry-level radiologic technologists. The purpose of The School of Medical Radiography at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare is to prepare graduates who are competent in the art and science of radiography. The graduates of this program receive a diploma in radiologic technology and are prepared to sit for the ARRT Certification Examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
The School of Medical Radiography is an accredited program offering the state and national required two-year (23 months) training program in the theory and practice of Medical Radiography leading to a diploma in Medical Radiography. This qualifies the graduate to participate in the state licensing and national examination with subsequent licensing, registration, and certification as a Medical Radiographer (Radiologic Technologist).
The primary responsibility of the program is to guide students in achieving educational goals. A comprehensive curriculum is provided that consists of a broad base of knowledge and diverse clinical experience. The curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop skills in conceptual understanding, analytical judgement, critical thinking, and the ability to problem solve in the performance of radiologic procedures.
