The campus is within easy walking distance of downtown Big Rapids with its restaurants, shops, movie theater, art gallery and municipal park. Bicyclists, hikers and in-line skaters have easy access to the White Pine Trail, Michigan's longest "rails to trails" project.

Ferris State University offers a number of residence hall options to accommodate your preferences. All Ferris residence halls are completely smoke free. All rooms have connections internet and cable television. A phone with voicemail is also included in each room. Each hall is equipped with laundry facilities as well as a small kitchenette. Students in these halls must select one of the following dining plans: Bulldog Anytime Platinum, Bulldog Anytime Gold, Bulldog Anytime Silver, or Bulldog Anytime Bronze.
