Description

The historic and sustaining philosophy of Midwestern University incorporates dedication to the highest standards of academic excellence and meets the educational needs of society. Midwestern University strives to provide a safe and healthy environment that challenges students, faculty, and staff.

Health care education is what we do. We're an established leader with an exciting vision for the future. Midwestern University offers programs that give you solid footing in the sciences, extensive hands-on experience in outstanding clinical rotations, and a compassionate perspective toward your patients.

You'll learn side-by-side with students in other health professions, modeling the team approach to 21st century health care practice. And you'll learn from faculty mentors who are dedicated to preparing their future colleagues for the realities of patient care. Our graduates are found in leading hospitals, private practices, laboratories, pharmacies, and health care facilities across the United States.

In the classroom, you'll study under the direction of professionals in their fields who receive professional accolades for their teaching skills and support of their professions, as well as grant-supported funding for research or on-going study in specialty areas that include everything from infectious diseases, women's health, ADD, dangerous plants and venomous creatures in the desert, and diabetes to Continuous Chest Compression, the latest method for providing CPR.

Outside your classes, MWU faculty members are involved in service and community activities that range from judging the annual MWU-AZ Regional Brain Bee competition for high school students interested in scholarships to MWU, the St. Jude Chicago-to-Peoria Run, and Health Professions Career Day to the Downers Grove Campus' Mini Med School, the Glendale Health Career Institute, CCOM's Ward Perrin Clinical Refresher Course, the Medic 155 ambulance/EMT unit on the Glendale campus, the DOCARE Medical Mission Trip to Guatemala, and more.

When you study at Midwestern University, you benefit from exceptional scholars who are dedicated to educating and mentoring their future colleagues as they model excellent examples of the caring, collaborative, team-oriented, community-focused health care professional of the 21st century.
