It is the mission of Monterey Peninsula College to offer stimulating, high-quality courses, programs, and student services to our diverse community. Monterey Peninsula College, recognizing the worth and potential of every individual, is dedicated to providing equal access and adequate support to any interested member of the community.MPC, one of 109 colleges in the California Community College System, is the focal point for learning beyond the secondary school. It endeavors to assist all who participate in its varied objectives to realize their highest potential as individuals, and also to realize their rights, freedoms and responsibilities in the community and the larger society of which they are a part.
The college offers courses to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions, to prepare for the workplace, to update work skills or prepare for a new career, to gain a general education, and to improve basic skills in mathematics, reading, writing and science.
Monterey Peninsula College provides opportunities for students to become involved in student government, college governance, and campus clubs. Every Spring and Fall semester, the Associated Students of MPC coordinate our Lobo Day Event, which is a day that introduces students to the various clubs, services and programs of the campus. It is a fun filled event with free food and entertainment!
Located 115 miles south of San Francisco and 350 miles north of Los Angeles, Monterey offers an excellent quality of life and unparalleled beauty. The City features a dazzling waterfront along the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, a lush urban forest, a rich array of historic and cultural resources, museums, gardens, recreational activities and a wide variety of special events scheduled throughout the year.
