NGU Description

Though not exclusively a Bible college, North Greenville University is deeply committed to spreading the gospel of Christ. NGU’s Southern Baptist affiliation has a profound impact on student life at the university, offering several campus, outreach and even athletic ministries.

North Greenville’s academics are faith-based, as well. The university comprises the following divisions:

  • College of Business & Sport Professions
  • College of Humanities
  • College of Christian Studies
  • College of Science and Mathematics
  • College of Education
  • College of Fine Arts

Through these colleges, NGU students can pursue Christ-driven careers in everything from Sport Management to Media Ministry.

The first step in applying for financial aid at NGU is to complete the FAFSA. This will determine your eligibility for need-based federal and state aid programs, as well as some NGU scholarships. Deadlines for scholarship applications vary from mid January to late March.

NGU has a comprehensive admissions process and tries to examine each applicant as a complete person. A minimum 3.0 GPA and ACT score of 20 are preferred, but not necessarily required. North Greenville University has open enrollment policy, which makes it easy to register for classes. If you’d like, you can wait until the day before classes start to register (though it’s not recommended to do so).

Detailed Ratings

Overall, it's a wonderful school. What I like the most is the spiritual growth I've attained from studying here. The atmosphere, the student life, chapel, even the faculty and staff all are fully centered on Christ. The president of the school hugs you everytime he sees you and knows you by name. North Greenville is focused primarily on your salvation and growth in your Christian walk, and secondly with your schooling. The school and all faculty and staff fully believe your Christian walk is of the utmost importance, and everything else follows after.

Detailed Ratings

The campus itself is small, and the ration of students to professors is small enough that you can actually get to know your professors. The views from the Dining Hall are beautiful, and it is a very peaceful place. The only downside is that it is in the middle of nowhere, and it takes 15 minutes just to get to the closest Walmart.
