NIC Description
A community college that prides itself on its ability to thoroughly train and educate its students so that they are sure to become successful in their future careers, North Idaho College (NIC) also boasts a variety of academic options beyond the traditional.
Not only does NIC offer three associate’s degrees options, students can also pursue certification in a variety of careers, earn dual credit for high school through the WINGS program or enter the Workforce Training Center to make themselves more well-rounded and competent employees. NIC has over 100 academic and professional-technical programs, so you’re sure to find the niche you require.
Tuition costs vary based on a number of factors, but students can seek financial aid to help with the cost. The first step is to complete a FAFSA to find out what you may be eligible for. Financial aid is offered in scholarships, grants, loans, SEOG and work-study.
NIC offers an open-door admissions policy. This means that students interested in the higher learning programs must simply have obtained their high school diploma or GED, or demonstrate ability to learn. Students can print or submit an application online, along with the application fee, and SAT, ACT or COMPASS scores.
College life at NIC is diverse, and centered largely on enjoying the outdoors. With NIC located on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene and the Spokane River, free time can be spent swimming, skiing, snowboarding, hiking or backpacking in the surrounding scenic environment.
