Description
North Lake College, created as a part of the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) in 1977, is a public community college with an open-door admission policy which anticipates and responds to the educational, training, and employment needs of the community. The college prepares people for successful living and responsible citizenship through quality educational programs. North Lake College is a two-year college that is recognized for quality education and its innovative and productive partnerships with businesses, the community and other educational institutions. The college serves a student population of approximately 8,000 credit students and 4,000 continuing education students per semester.
North Lake College is located on 276 acres of mesquite tree covered hills in the Las Colinas district of Irving, Texas - a Dallas suburb.
In this area are hundreds of businesses that make their "home" in Las Colinas. Some of our larger neighbors are Exxon/Mobil, the Boy Scouts of America, TIG Insurance, and NOKIA of the Americas.
Also nearby is the Four Seasons Resort Hotel & Club, whose 18-hole golf course, immediately adjacent to the North Lake campus, is home to the annual Byron Nelson Golf Championship. Just to the west of the campus is Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport.
