Rabbinical Seminary of America
76-01 147th St, Flushing, NY 11367
Description
If you are a member of the Jewish Orthodox faith seeking an immersive educational experience, then the Rabbinical Seminary of America, also known as the Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yisrael Meir HaKohen, in the Kew Garden Hills area of Queens, New York, may be the yeshiva for you.
What distinguishes the Rabbinical Seminary of America from other yeshivas is its comprehensive approach to studying Talmudic law and literature.
Besides becoming well-versed in the historical and religious content of Talmudic literature, you will also closely study the philosophy process of reasoning and deduction, as well as a vast body of biblical texts besides the Halakhic and Talmudic areas.
To help students better understand and practice the Jewish faith, the yeshiva requires all students to attend semiweekly lectures and seminars exclusively dedicated to the Mussar, or Jewish ethics. The yeshiva believes that, in order to be an effective Jewish scholar, students must develop a worldview and upstanding personality consistent with their faith.
The yeshiva encourages all its graduates to pursue employment or higher education in fields that allow them to diffuse Judaic values. Many students have gone on to land jobs as educators, rabbis and community leaders.
For more information on specific admissions requirements, tuition costs and application deadlines, please contact the Rabbinical Seminary.
The yeshiva is authorized to offer financial aid through federal and institutional grant programs to students who have filed a FAFSA and demonstrate need.
