RICE Description

Radford University is student centered and focused on providing outstanding academic programs. Well known for its strong faculty/student bonds, innovative use of technology in the learning environment and vibrant student life on a beautiful campus, RU offers many opportunities to get involved and succeed in and out of the classroom. The Mission of the Academic Affairs Division at Radford University is to create a challenging, supportive, and engaging educational culture that is anchored in the liberal arts tradition and is ethically responsive to the needs of the twenty-first century global society.

Nestled in the New River Valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, RU welcomes students from across the country and around the world. Here, you will find inspiration in the surroundings -- the manicured green lawns on campus, the steady roll of the New River, the wonders along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the stately university buildings, the quaint downtown -- filled with new adventures, new ideas, new friends and new choices.

Want to get involved? You can start with more than 200 clubs and organizations, including academic clubs, outdoor clubs, national honor fraternities and Greek associations. Join a team -- RU has club and intramural sports and NCAA Division I athletics, which includes eight men’s and 11 women’s sports. If that’s not enough, there’s campus lectures, movies, performances, festivals and concerts from big names like Outkast, Matchbox 20 and Fuel.
