The institute is one of the first schools of its kind to offer a weekend study program, allowing students to complete work on days that accommodate their schedule. Depending on how intensively you pursue your degree, you can complete the program in as little as 28 months.
To ensure that its students receive the real-world experience to handle the demands of the career, Simmons requires students to complete 10 case calls before graduation.
The academics offered by Simmons include an associate’s of applied science degree in the mortuary sciences. You will begin your education learning basic human anatomy and physiology before learning advanced skills in embalming, funeral directing, accounting and business law.

Students who file a FAFSA will be considered to receive Simmons financial aid through federal Pell grants and direct student loans, New York Tuition Assistance programs and scholarships funded by the New York State Funeral Directors Association.
