Description

St. Edward's University is a diverse, nationally recognized liberal arts institution overlooking downtown Austin, Texas. Founded in 1885 by the Congregation of Holy Cross, the university emphasizes critical thinking, social justice and ethical practice. Classes are small, averaging 19 students, and professors know their students by name. Since 2004, U.S. News & World Report has recognized St. Edward's among the top master's-granting universities in the western United States. The university is also one of 81 featured in the guidebook Colleges with a Conscience for outstanding civic engagement. St. Edward's has study abroad programs in Mexico, Germany, Argentina, France and Scotland, as well as exchange agreements with schools in dozens of other countries. To help students prepare for life after college, Career Planning offers resume coaching, a job fair attended by more than 125 employers, and extensive internship opportunities.
