Providing the world’s best professional culinary education has been the mission of The Culinary Institute of America since its founding in 1946. The CIA’s flagship residential campus is located on 170 acres in historic Hyde Park, NY, overlooking the Hudson River and convenient by car and train to New York City.Our comprehensive, skills-focused degree programs give you more than 1,300 hours in our professional kitchens and bakeshops under the expert guidance of our award-winning faculty. CIA students learn by doing through rotations in some of our five on campus public restaurants, as well as during an externship at one of more than 1,200 top foodservice establishments around the world.
Bachelor’s students journey to a world-renowned culinary destination such as the American West, Italy, or Spain to explore the region’s purveyors, growers, and restaurants. More than 90% of CIA students receive financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and Work-Study opportunities.
