Description

Voorhees College is a private, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. The College, located in rural South Carolina, serves traditional and nontraditional students primarily from the state of South Carolina and the southeastern region of the United States. The aim of the College is to offer each student an intensive general educational experience coupled with professional education in the value-centered liberal arts tradition. The College excels in instruction in liberal studies, arts and sciences and a wide range of pre-professional and professional disciplines. The College seeks to produce highly qualified graduates who combine intellect and faith in their preparation for strong professional performance, pursuit of life-long learning, betterment of society, and an abiding faith in God.

Voorhees College has a rich history and a bright future. We're a fully accredited historically black liberal arts college that offers degrees in 12 disciplines – a number that's growing as we grow. Through our long-standing affiliation with the Episcopal Church, Voorhees focuses on developing students spiritually as well as intellectually.

We offer degrees in accounting, biology, business administration, criminal justice, computer science, sociology, English, health and recreation, mathematics, mass communication, and organizational management, as well as a training program in cyber security education. Our ratio of one faculty member per 15 students keeps you from getting lost in a crowd. The Tigers compete in seven NAIA sports, and a variety of clubs and Greek organizations offer students opportunities to get involved.

From sports or choir to computer science or communications to faith-based groups and more, you'll find a club or organization at Voorhees College that will keep you involved and engaged during your time here.

And an involved, engaged student is a well-rounded one. One who develops leadership, organizational and communications skills that are invaluable in the professional world. One who learns to work as part of a team and who masters the ability to juggle responsibilities and fun.

We are located in south central South Carolina about 50 miles from both Columbia and Augusta. Georgia,
