American InterContinental University, an international family of schools geared toward providing working adults with a real-world perspective on higher education and professional training, was founded in Europe in 1970 and acquired by Career Education Corporation in 2001.
American InterContinental University is both accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. The university maintains a national presence with campuses in four states across the country and in the United Kingdom. There are currently five physical campus locations in the American InterContinental University family of schools.
The curriculum and professional training programs at American InterContinental University are geared toward working adults, most of whom maintain full-time employment status while in school, seeking career advancement and opportunities by enhancing their education via bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees and master’s degrees.
Some 27,000 students attend American InterContinental University and American InterContinental University Online, the school’s popular distance learning outlet. The school system is known for producing large numbers of graduates with industry-relevant technical, design and management skills.
