Mayland Community College

The mission of Mayland Community College is to give the citizens of our service area the opportunities they need to improve their lives through the attainment of a high-quality, accessible education by providing: (a) education, training and retraining for the workforce, including basic skills and literacy education, occupational and pre-baccalaureate programs, (b) support for economic development through services to and in partnership with business and industry, and (c) services to communities and individuals, which improve the quality of life.

Located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, Mayland Community College offers 37 curriculum programs leading to Associate Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates. Mayland is part of the 58-campus North Carolina Community College System, and we partner with area colleges and universities to offer transfer options to our students.

Mayland Community College is where futures begin. WIth 37 curriculum programs, including technical, vocational, and college transfer, we offer something for most everyone.

Each student is assigned to a faculty advisor who will help you adequately plan to reach your educational goals, assist you as you develop a comprehensive Student Success Plan that encourages self-reflection and fosters goal formation, and serve as your partner to ensure your success. Our classes are small, and your instructors will also guide you along the way in order to help you succeed.
