Description

If you’re a student looking to receive vocational guidance and training or sharpen your employability skills, Human Resource Development and Employment, Inc. at the Stanley Technical Institute in Hinton, West Virginia, may be the right place for you.

The institute views learning as unique to each student, which is why its learning activities consist of a combination of reading, observation, and hands-on application designed to cater to the student’s individual approach to learning. Students may be self-directed or participate in groups.

Stanley Tech operates on an open-ended, open-exit training schedule. This means that traditional fixed start and end dates will be assessed and scheduled by the institute.

The institute also offers direct, on-the-job training in specific areas with contracted employers. This gives students firsthand access to professional facilities, methods, and resources, and skilled experience and instruction in the workforce.

A number of youth programs exist at the school to improve the quality of life of West Virginians.

The In-School Youth Program is designed to give low-income youth currently attending school services to develop necessary skills and personal qualities for a productive, successful future.

The Out-of-School Youth Program offers the same services to low-income youth who are not currently attending school.

The Youthbuild Program prepares young adults for the GED, provides leadership skills, and offers vocational training and apprenticeship in the construction industry.

The West Virginia Youth Works Program assists and services 16-29 year old citizens with disabilities in 19 counties throughout West Virginia.
