Winthrop University doesn’t only provide students with an academically superior education, but also requires learning outside the classroom through immersion and participation in cultural and other activities.

Located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Winthrop is a public, four-year school that has been ranked among the top universities in the state.

Winthrop offers programs in such professional fields as Broadcast Journalism, Business, Education, Environmental Studies, Healthcare, and Social Work. Other programs leading to a career include the pre-professional offerings such as Pre-Physical Therapy and Pre-Law.

Arts programs feature Art, Conducting, Dance, Jewelry Design, Photography and Theatre. Winthrop also offers a host of academically oriented programs like African American Studies, French Education, Medieval Studies, Psychology and Women’s Studies.

Student life incorporates the cultural part of the Winthrop experience. These additional experiences have also received recognition for cultivating long-term positive effects in students.

Students engage in classroom learning, but are also required to attend 20 arts or cultural events per year. Many such events may be found on the Winthrop campus, at the school’s theatre events and concerts.

Through career services students also engage in local community service, which gives them the opportunity to help others while building job skills. Financial aid is available to eligible students and may be obtained through talent scholarships and other sources.
