It’s an exciting time for LSU at Eunice! The college is larger and better known than it has ever been in its nearly 40-year history. LSU at Eunice has become the premier two-year campus of Louisiana.

You will enjoy LSU Eunice's friendly, supportive, safe environment. The campus is small enough that no one feels lost in a crowd.

Faculty are readily available to work one-on-one with you. They set aside 10 hours a week for student conferences, and they regularly meet informally with students outside of class to offer encouragement or just to talk.

When you arrive at LSU Eunice, you will soon be greeting familiar faces as you walk across campus. As you work together to achieve your educational goals, you can develop ties with these friends that last a lifetime.

As a comprehensive 2-year college in the LSU System, Louisiana State University at Eunice is committed to upholding the LSU tradition of excellence. LSUE students are part of an institution that is recognized nationally and internationally.

LSUE students can enroll in at least two years of course work toward a bachelor's degree. They also can prepare for a career by completing two-year associate degrees or one-year certificates.

In most cases, students find that they can complete their freshman and sophomore years toward a bachelor's degree while also earning an associate degree in arts, science, or general studies.

Other associate degree programs are specifically designed to provide career preparation in two years. LSUE also offers a growing variety of technical diplomas, certificates of technical study, and technical competency areas.

In addition, LSUE offers a variety of continuing education programs to serve the needs of community members who want to upgrade their skills or pursue leisure-time interests.

Louisiana State University at Eunice (LSUE) is a community college located in Eunice, Louisiana, that currently serves around 2,500 full and part-time students.

LSUE currently offers degrees and diplomas up to the associate's degree level.

History

LSUE was founded in 1964 by the Louisiana state legislature to provide basic higher education opportunities to students located in southwest Louisiana.

Athletics

Since its establishment in 1999, the LSUE Bengal Intercollegiate Athletic Program has developed quickly. LSUE competes in Region 23 of the National Junior College Athletic Association in women's basketball, men's baseball and women's softball.

Women's basketball

The women's basketball program was established in 1999. It started as a Division III program, but following a National Tournament berth in 2003, the program went to Division II. The program's best player in its short history was Casey Broussard. Broussard currently holds over 20 school records and an NJCAA record for Free Throw Percentage in a season. The current coach of the Lady Bengals is Michael Bari. Bari brought the Lady Bengals their best season ever for the 2004-05 year, with a 18-12 regular season record, and took the team to the District Finals losing to North Arkansas College, 92-95.

Softball

Softball was established at LSUE in 2004, and the inaugural season took place in 2005. The team will play at the newly constructed softball field on the campus, neighboring Bengal Village.

Baseball

Baseball was added to the LSUE Athletics program in 1999. It is managed by Athletic Director Jeff Willis. In 2006, the LSUE Bengal baseball team won the 2006 NJCAA Division II College World Series by defeating Grand Rapids Community College 7-3
