The college maintains a mandatory drug screening post-enrollment in the fall semester for all students to detect, prevent, and deter drug use and abuse to allow Linn State Tech students better opportunities for employment.

A number of student services are available at the college. Some include an academic resource center, activity center, counseling center, and more.

In addition, there are a wide variety of student clubs and organizations designed to give students real-world experience, some of which include: Phi Theta Kapa, Veterans Club, American Public Works Association Student Chapter, and many more.
