Description

The Academy of Careers and Technology (ACT) has on a number of occasions received the Exemplary School Award, a merit based on numerous criteria. Included among those criteria are student success, teaching techniques and the relevance of organizational activities on campus.

Designed for high school and adult students, ACT offers programs in Automotive Technology, Dental and Medical Assisting, Criminal Justice, and Welding, among others.

The Academy of Careers and Technology also offers additional training and certification for those already established in careers.

ACT’s select group of student organizations are all connected to particular fields of study and thereby help students to build on and enhance what’s learned in the classroom.

Another reason for the success of ACT students is the unerring support the faculty and staff provide. ACT has numerous career, academic and personal counselors in place to help students in every capacity, from test anxiety to career-related decisions to academic challenges.

Counselors also work with students in exploring their aspirations, aptitudes and career and personal interests. ACT’s counseling division will also help to place students in jobs related to their training.

Financial aid includes Workforce Development, a program which covers the full tuition for qualifying students. There are also Pell grants, loans and scholarships which are granted by the school to those who qualify.
