Associate’s degrees, pre-professional programs and programs for senior citizens are just some of the offerings at the Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC).

Located in Belleville, Illinois with 20 campus centers throughout the region, Southwestern Illinois College has been ranked by Community College Week in several categories.

These include being ranked among the top 100 community colleges nationwide and being rated 38th in the nation and second in the state for its one-year certificate programs.

Southwestern Illinois College’s degree and certificate offerings include a huge range of programs. One may obtain an associate’s degree in pre-professional programs such as Pre-Journalism, Pre-Law, Pre-Film or Pre-Dentistry.

Student may also get degrees in such fields as Aerospace Studies, Accounting, Massage Therapy or Respiratory Care. Certificates include everything from Culinary Arts to Medical Assisting to Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Additional programs include a Police Academy and a Real Estate Appraisal program.

Southwestern Illinois College also has a program for senior adults. These are comprehensive and include everything from caregiving counseling, to advocacy to health and wellness courses to classes for personal enrichment.

Student organizations are also numerous and include an ecology club, several theatre clubs, a sign language club a physical therapy assistant club, sororities, fraternities, athletic offerings and an on-campus art center.

Student services include career counseling, tutoring, and financial aid for eligible students.
