At Associated Technical College (AST) in Los Angeles, California students get experiential training in select career programs.

AST’s program in Medical Assisting and Cardiac Technology trains future professionals to work in medical offices, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities. Through hands-on activities and tasks, students are given the opportunity to practice their trade on a regular basis.

AST’s other program in Telecommunications Technology prepares students to work in Electronics, Computer Networking and other areas within the Telecommunications industry.

In addition to practical skills training, students get career coaching and employment referrals from AST’s career services department.

Since AST offers flexible day and evening scheduling options, attending AST can be possible for even the busiest adults.

A high school diploma or GED and a passing score on an entrance exam are the main requirements for admission.

Financial aid is also available based on one’s financial need and other factors.
