Description

The Mesalands Community College in Tucumcari, New Mexico, is one of the leaders of New Mexico higher education with its high quality academics and building trades, farrier and paleontology programs.

Mesalands has its own rodeo team, allowing students interested in the rodeo an opportunity to develop their skills and partake in various rodeo events throughout New Mexico. Other various clubs and organizations are available to join, including the Campus Student Governance, Diesel Technology club and Christian Fellowship organization.

The college also has its own unique dinosaur museum, which is both for recreational interest and students studying paleontology. Students can contribute to the museum by enrolling in a natural science course and conducting field research in one of the largest fossil beds in Quay County.

Other academics offered at the school include transfer degrees in fields like Animal Science, Business Administration, Public Administration and Human Services.

Students may also earn professional certificates in Technical and Professional Writing, Artistic Silversmithing, Fine Arts Medical Casting and more.

New Mexico students can take advantage of receiving discounted tuition costs, although financial aid is available to all eligible students who file a FAFSA. To be considered for academic scholarships, students must complete a scholarship application.

To begin the admissions process, students must complete an application, submit an official high school transcript or GED and take an assessment test.
