APSU Description

Cutting-edge biological research and lectures from some of the most respected writers of today are examples of the academic and creative excellence you can find at Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Austin Peay’s academics are comprised of the colleges of Arts and Letters, Behaviorial and Health Sciences, Nursing, Education and Business, among others. Both bachelor’s and master’s degrees are awarded in more than 56 majors.

One of the distinguishing features of Austin Peay is its centers for excellence. The center for excellence in creative arts, for example, hosts world-class dance, theatre and music performers as well as literary readings, lectures and art exhibits. Students don’t only participate as audience members either: they are also given the chance to take master classes with these creative professionals.

The center for excellence in biology is responsible for conducting research in such disparate areas as toxicology, herpetology and biology of endangered species. Field trips and opportunities for research alongside seasoned biologists are also available through the center.

Exchange programs for students from other schools and international students as well as programs for continuing learners, high school students and home-schooled students are also available.

Financial aid is awarded to eligible students through different sources, which include everything from federal loans to military benefits. Certain departments also grant fellowships, which can help cover the cost of tuition.

For information about admissions contact an Austin Peay representative or administator.
