A good community college should work hard to create a great academic atmosphere that’s designed to help students succeed. That’s exactly what Johnston Community College in Smithfield, North Carolina does for its students.

Among the array of student services available, Johnston Community College offers academic advisors, student government, student clubs and organizations, tons of co-curricular activities, testing services, WISE UP workshops for success, and the tutoring and writing center.

In addition to the usual programs of study, JCC offers Accounting, Adult Basic Education, Graphic Design, Nursing, Fine Arts, Science, Basic Law Enforcement, Bioprocess Technology, Biowork, Business Administration, and Cardiac & Vascular Sonography.

After two years at JCC, you could earn an associate’s degree or certificate. But your college experience doesn’t have to end there: the transfer service center helps students transfer to a four-year university to continue on to a bachelor’s degree and beyond.

However, if your plan is to go straight into the workforce, the career service center offers career assessment, exploration, occupational information, and the Job Link career center which helps students plan their career search and get placed in jobs.

Johnston Community College is a great campus. Easy to get to, running track around the lake in back of the school and very friendly teachers and students. The school also has a nice student lounge and grill.
