Its campus occupies 200 acres of rolling lawns and native foliage in the foothills of the majestic San Gabriel mountains. Founded in 1883 as a private college, Chaffey has been a publicly funded college since1916 and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Chaffey is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges, the Community College League of California, Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC), and is approved by the Office of Private Post-Secondary Education for Veterans Benefits.
Chaffey College
From Wikipedia, The Free EncyclopediaChaffey College is a public community college in the San Bernardino County city of Rancho Cucamonga, California, in the northern part of the community of Alta Loma. Chaffey provides students with different classes and programs, including (but not limited to) business, science, the arts, history, philosophy, psychology, and RN and LVN nursing programs. Chaffey College is the oldest community college in California.
History
The school was first founded in Ontario in 1883, when city founders and brothers George and William Chaffey donated land and established an endowment for a private college. The private school was founded as the Chaffey College of Agriculture of the University of Southern California; USC, also a private university, had been founded three years earlier in nearby Los Angeles. The cornerstone of the new school was laid on March 17, 1883 at Fourth and Euclid in Ontario; it opened on October 15, 1885. The original institution included a secondary school and was run by USC until 1901. During this period, Chaffey's football team had a 1-1 series with the young USC football team, winning 32-6 in 1893 and losing 38-0 in 1897.
Financial troubles forced the school to close in 1901. The building was taken over by the city and became the home of Ontario High School (now Chaffey High School). In 1906 the Chaffey endowment was legally separated from USC and reorganized to benefit the newly created Chaffey Union High School District. When Ontario High school opened to students from Upland in 1911, its present name was adopted. In 1916, the Chaffey Junior College of Agriculture was added as a postgraduate department to the high school. The school's buildings were renovated and additional buildings added during the New Deal.

College Advice |
|
I'm currently a high school student and was getting a job as a medical assistant. I already got my permit from Chaffey College and was wondering what the salary was at these hours. I plan to work 8 hours a week during the weekend. During the summer, I plan to work 20 hours during the weekend because I'll be busy at community college.

Question:
Help About Grants?
Do you have to pay back grants? I go to chaffey college in california and im not sure if i have to pay back my finacial aid when i finish school.

You do NOT have to pay back any grants or scholarships you receive as part of financial aid. Remember, not all financial aid is free money. Most of what student receive are called Stafford Loans. These are federal loans with lower interest rates but you will have to pay them back 6 months after you leave school.
