College Advice on Lewis University - Romeoville

dan y Question: Was there a fire on the Lewis University campus in Romeoville IL in the Phillip Lynch Theater? In the theater there are fire scarred bricks but we haven't been able to find any information whatsoever about a fire in the building. There is also a door that leads to the roof that has Do Not Open scratched into it where we found some unprocessed cotton, while the climate around here is not suitable for cotton to grow, as well as the fact that there is not a farm within 40 miles of the campus. I'm pretty sure it happend before it became the Theater the bricks look quite old but so far no information. 41 months ago Trave... Best Answer That is interesting, but I have never heard that there was a fire in the theater. The only thing I know about the building is that it used to be an old airplane hanger...I'll ask around and see if anything comes up though! In 1895 there was a massive fire in downtown Lockport, and if you said the bricks appear to be really old, then I would say it is likely that they came from the fire.
