At Northern Institute of Cosmetology, your professional aspirations are the focus. The school’s Cosmetology program combines hands-on experience with intensive training from experienced instructors. By the time you’re done with the 11-month program, you’ll be a certified cosmetologist with the skills you need to launch a career.

The Northern Institute’s program is split into two segments: Junior and Senior. In the Junior phase, you’ll learn the basics of cosmetology in a classroom setting. Once you’ve completed this phase, you’ll begin the Senior portion of your education, which includes practicing on real customers.

Altogether, you’ll log 1500 of training, which should be plenty to get you ready for the cosmetology license exam. While the Institute claims that the program lasts 11 months, it may take you longer; only about 60% of students finish in 11 months.

The Northern Institute of Cosmetology doesn’t guarantee employment, but it does put a strong emphasis on job placement. The Institute makes extensive efforts to help its graduates find jobs, and has a high placement rate to prove it.
