Overall
The most invaluable resource at Yale are my fellow students. Each brings in a totally different background, set of skills and experience, rendering the campus an intense source of inspiration. Every person has an amazing story to tell. Dining hall conversation, late-night conversation with suitemates, class discussion all make for the most unique experiences here.
Academics
Classes at Yale are extremely rewarding. There is a wide variety of challenging classes, allowing significant academic breadth. The classes nearly all focus on developing a liberal arts education -- you'll find few, if any, classes on Accounting, Communications or other pre-professional subject areas.
College Life
The campus teems with over-achievers, which means there is an organization or student club for nearly everything. If not, it is very easy to start your own. Most people are heavily involved with two or three groups and tangentially participate in a dozen others. As far as the social scene, there is equal diversity. The university administration has a generally lax policy towards alcohol consumption, so suite-parties, frat parties and parties on campus. While most of the social scene revolves around drinking, there are also a plethora of events for the non-partyers, including concerts, shows and study breaks.

Overall
Yale is a wonderful place for students looking for a challenging, well-rounded college experience. Musicians and theater lovers will be particularly happy at Yale. Yale's "residential college" system allows students to get the small-school experience within the huge overall population. Among the Ivy League, I think Yale has the best attitude when it comes to work-life balance and stress management.
Academics
I majored in American Studies, an interdisciplinary major combining history, literature, art history, music, sociology and more. I really appreciated this cultural approach to 20th century American literature, which was what I wanted to focus on. I worked hard but never felt overwhelmed - in part, I think, that was because I really loved what I was doing.
College Life
New Haven is rough around the edges, so most of the social life at Yale is focused within the university rather than off-campus. I thought this was a very good thing. I spent my non-work hours going to concerts, seeing plays, and just hanging out with my classmates. One of the best things about Yale is the people: Just about everyone is interesting, smart, funny, and someone you really enjoy spending time with.

Overall
I applied to Yale because of the name brand, but the more I got to know the school, the more it seemed it was the right fit for me. Yale is a great place to go if you're looking for an excellent education and thriving student scene. Everyone I knew was passionately involved in one or more extracurricular, whether that was sports, theater, singing groups, ethnic groups, volunteer organizations, etc. The residential college system makes sure that from the moment you arrive on campus, you have 100+ new friends. Each college has its own facilities, including a dining hall, library, lounge, and other things. This system helps the medium-size school feel a lot smaller and more intimate. Many of my best friends are still Yalies, and it is extremely rare to find someone who did not love their Yale experience. There is a scene for everyone, though I would say there are some overarching aspects of the culture I would highlight: non-competitiveness (people rarely talked about grades and I had no idea how even my friends performed academically, people also readily help each other study), general tolerance (Yale has everything from eccentric artsy types to athletes), and public service (by far, this is the biggest defining characteristic).
Academics
I did a double major in History and International Studies and had a higher-than-average workload as a result. When I attended, the strongest departments were history, english, economics, and political science. Those majors were the most popular as a result. My favorite lecture classes included History of Modern China, Cold War, Constitutional Law, and Brain & Thought (an intro neuroscience class). I loved my smaller seminar classes, too, each of which has 15 students or fewer. One crafts their own workload. You can get by coasting if you take a bunch of "gut" easy classes, but I took a moderately challenging set, because i wanted to make the most out of the education. Still, I managed to strategically line up my classes such that, for junior and senior year, I often had 4-day weekends.
College Life
I can't speak more highly of the social atmosphere. There is a ton to do on campus, and most all of the clubs have inclusive cultures that welcome newcomers. Campus safety was not a big issue when I was there, as long as one exercised common sense. I have heard that in recent years, crime has increased in New Haven, however.

Yale Uniiversity is stupendis from what i have heard. When a school is that great why go any place else. Plus to me Yale is the only School ive ever wanted to go to because of its beauty and academics.
Academics
From what i hear about Yales academics that is not easy and thats what i like about it Yale. That it challenges your mind and that they puh you to be the very best you can be kind of like the Army in a way. But better much better.
College Life
Colledge life is nothing more to find your self and what you want to do for the rest of your life. Make knew friends and join clubs weather it be a chess club of some other kind of club. And most inpotant enjoy your self. Because if you knot there to learn and not enjoying campus life then what are you there fore.Its true you have to like anything you do weather it be takeing photos, painting, or even history.
