NCAT Description

Despite its name, North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University isn’t just for students looking for careers in engineering and environment. While they highlight their Schools of Engineering and Environmental & Agricultural Studies, NCAT also offers academic programs in business and economics, education, liberal arts and more.

With over 10,000 students, A&T is proud to be the second-largest historically black college in the nation. The nearly 200-acre campus is situated just 8 blocks away from Greensboro. Students can hike in the gorgeous Carolina mountains, while remaining close to city life.

On-campus housing is extensive, with traditional, suite, and apartment-style rooms. There are over a dozen residence halls, most of which are concentrated in South Campus.

A&T’s Office of Student Financial Aid offers extensive assistance to eligible students. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and need. There are also diversity scholarships designed to assist minority students, as well as awards for incoming students. Additionally, each department has scholarship funds to help outstanding students pay for tuition.

The school places equal emphasis on leadership, civic service, and self-discovery. While some engineering colleges focus only on academics, North Carolina A&T teaches its students to be conscientious and contributing members of society, as well as successful professionals.
