Arkansas State University Newport offers traditional career and educational programs as well as those intended for individuals from academically challenged backgrounds.

Newport’s associate’s degrees and career certifications can lead to careers or to a four-year university transfer in various fields. These include Business, Teacher Education, Criminal Justice, Commercial Truck Driving, Nursing and other health professions, and High Voltage Lineman Technology.

Newport offers classes online in addition to on-site courses.
Newport’s programs are intended to accommodate students from all economic and social backgrounds. Newport’s Career Pathways fulfills this commitment by providing comprehensive educational and career training for low-income parents. Students in this program have access to childcare, tuition assistance, tutoring and other services.

Newport also has adult education programs, which help students to learn basic math skills, English skills and/or prepare for the GED.

All Newport students have access to career services, academic advising, and such student activities as a minority support group, sports and student government.
