Description
ACT College is one of Arlington, Virginia’s primary sources of healthcare education, providing training for some of the most rapidly growing allied health careers as well as excellent career placement services. Major areas of study that lead to a diploma or associate’s degree at ACT include:
*Dental Assisting
*Medical Assisting
*Pharmacy Technology
*Radiography
All students undertake an externship in their area of expertise, giving them professional experience, an additional edge in the job market, and possibly a future full-time job.
ACT’s career expo provides additional networking opportunities between students and potential employers. A highly efficient strategy, the career expo allows ACT students to interview with possible employers from medical facilities and companies throughout the region.
In addition to the career expo, the career services department provides assistance with interviewing and the job search.
Those interested in applying should first fill out an inquiry form on the school website, after which an ACT representative will get in touch and arrange for an in-person meeting. Proof of a high school diploma and identification will be required at the interview.
At that time, ACT staff can also help with the financial aid application process. Financial aid is awarded through federal and school funds. Federal aid sources include Pell grants and loans, which are based primarily on financial need. ACT also awards scholarships. Additionally, private funding through outside loans and scholarships is also available.
