This aviation school in Tennessee has two focused certification programs as well as an Associate degree program in aviation technology and maintenance. The aviation maintenance technician program leading to a certification provides state of the art, technologically advanced training for future aviation technologists. The program offers three concentrations: general, airframe, and power plant aviation. The program, which requires nearly 2,000 hours of study, is structured to provide top quality training in the classroom and in the air. After completion, students may opt to continue on with the more specified airframe aviation or power plant aviation programs, each requiring an addition 700-plus hours. The majority of the curriculum is spent as hands-on instruction.
The Associate in Applied Science Degree in Aviation Technology Program provides students with a general education bases and foundation aviation knowledge with specialized emphasis on flight, maintenance, or operations/air traffic control. Students qualify for a wide variety of careers in the Aviation/Aerospace industry, or for those students who are employed in an aviation-related area, this degree will provide the knowledge and college credentials needed to be competitive for advancement or promotion. The AASD Program is 24 months long.
