Established in 1970 the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center School of Radiation Therapy is dedicated to preparing its students to become professional radiation therapists. In keeping with its commitment to education and patient care, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center offers a two-year, full-time program of study in Radiation Oncology Technology. Its students will learn to demonstrate the highest quality of technical expertise; provide competent, compassionate clinical care in serving their patients; and collaborate effectively with their colleagues.
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, established in 1884, is the world's oldest and largest private institution devoted to cancer care. It's mission is the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.
Memorial Sloan-Kettering is composed of Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases and the Sloan-Kettering Institute.
Memorial Hospital, the patient-care arm of Memorial Sloan-Kettering, delivers state-of-the-art services for people with cancer or related diseases. Radiation Oncology, a department within Memorial Hospital, is staffed by more than 100 skilled professionals, including radiation oncologists and residents, registered therapists, nurses, and social workers, as well as a medical physics team. The Sloan-Kettering Institute is one of the nations premier biomedical research institutions.
