Mass Art Description

It was the first private Art and Design School in the country and remains one of the nation’s leaders in art education. Competitive and selective, Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston offers those who are admitted the chance to enter into an engaging degree program in the visual arts, where creative opportunities abound.

The undergraduate degrees at Mass College of Art and Design include the full range of fine art disciplines and media, such as:

Certificates and master’s degrees are also available in several visual arts disciplines.

In addition to training with experienced faculty who are artists themselves, students at Mass College of Art and Design also get the chance to meet and take brief, intense master classes with various professional visiting artists.

At the campus galleries, students have the chance to view work by leading and up-and-coming artists, as well as exhibit their own work.

Admission to Mass College is selective and only those who exhibit a combination of artistic talent, intellectual strength and academic merit are admitted.

To help students fund their education, Mass College of Art provides various types of financial aid. The choice to award scholarships is based on such factors as state of origin, academic merit and/or artistic ability.

Loans, work-study and grants are also awarded and are based primarily on financial need. Tuition payment plans and a certain number of tuition waivers are also available.
