I still have a while to figure this out, but I'm thinking about becoming a doctor and i need a good college (in-state) that has a good pre-med program

Your best bet would probably be Clemson University. It's the largest research university in the state, with great science programs and lots of opportunities for undergraduate research.

What is the best college (price and education wise) in South Carolina (preferably in the upstate)?

Best Answer
Clemson University. It's a state university, so it's cheap, and it was #40 on the list of top universities in the country last year. It's aiming for #20 in a few years.

What are the most credited and least credited undergraduate majors at Clemson University? For example, the New house college of Syracuse University has an excellent communications undergraduate program. New York University has an excellent undergraduate businness program. Preferably name a few of the best and worst undergraduate majors.

Clemson has one of the best engineering programs in the south. If you interested in engineering as a major, any of their disciplines would be a fine choice.
Civil Engineering
Mechaincal Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Computer Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Biosystems Engineering
Biomedical Engineering
Ceramic Engineering
Industrial Engineering
They have it all. I majored in Civil and graduated in May of '04. I would definitely reccomend Clemson especially if you like a big school in a small town atmosphere. There is always something going on and plenty of fun things to do even though the school is rural. Tons of social activities and outdoor activities are huge.

I'd go with Clemson myself. It does have a better academic reputation than East Carolina.
However, if you have received funding at one over the other, this might be a factor. Do you have 2 years of guaranteed funding at one school and only 1 at the other? Do you have to maintain a 3.5 or a 3.25 GPA? Your student VISA will be tied to ability to pay tuition without working (outside the university), so this might be a factor in your decision.
As for future prospects... if you can find a job with Visa sponsorship upon graduation, then you can stay as long as you would like (and, if you are fluent in Spanish, there is a need for bilingual health care workers, so sponsorship will be relatively easy). If not, then you will have to return to your home country. However, if you are looking for a Ph.D. after your Masters, then either school will help you to this end. Job prospects are much better with a Masters degree over a Bachelors in this field.

im planning to go to Clemson University but i dont want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. is there anything to do in Clemson or the surrounding area?
what about shopping malls and movie theatres?

It's a beautiful area, with lots to do. There's whitewater rafting a little ways north (they filmed "Deliverance" there.), and places to hike, camp, or go boating.
The college has the usual extra-curricular activities there, like salsa classes, various clubs, concerts, etc.
For "city" activities like big clubs, you'll have to drive a little bit, but it's not unreasonable.

Question:
college help?
ok I want to be a Marine Biologist, and I am torn between two colleges. Clemson University and College of Charleston. I know for a fact that College of Charleston has a marine biology program. Does Clemson? My friend also wants to go to Clemson for the same reason and he says that there is one but I cant find it anywhere on their webpage.
can someone answer this?

Clemson has 6 professors that specialize in marine biology. Try either calling the bio dept on Monday to ask if they have a major in it, or emailing one of the professors.

Would like various details on academics, athletics, the area, food, entertainment, etc.

Academics - good, and working on climbing their way up in the rankings.
Athletics - popular, and a well-known football team.
Area - lots of bars in town (within walking distance of campus) and a few larger cities nearby (Anderson, Greenville, 2 hours from Charlotte, Atlanta).
Food - pretty typical for the south - fine if you're used to it, low on ethnic - no indian, vietnamese, decent asian, etc.
Entertainment - they're pretty good at bringing in artists - just had 50 cent and Death Cab for Cutie.

I received an excellent opportunity to study there and I want to get familiar with its credentials. Could you please tell me more about it?
Something like, how's the weather there, how good it is at teaching, where I can look up more about, tuition, chances, technology it has, campus, if sometime it happened a murder there... whatever you know and I should know, I'll thank you very much.
PSD. Forgive me if I wrote something wrong.

I live near clemson and can tell you that it is great university. There was a murder that but the girl lived off campus and her murderer was caught. They have excellent facilities and it is one of the hardest colleges to get into. The school is well known for being a football school. The weather varies by the week. Today it was about 89 degrees. The good thing is that you are so far inland that there is no worries about hurricanes. The winter here is cold but you hardly have snow. Check out the university website.
