CWRU Description
Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio offers rigorous academics, research opportunities and a campus life that abounds with student-generated activities of all types.
Academically, Case Western is particularly noted for its programs in Medicine, Dentistry and Law. Undergraduate and graduate degrees are also awarded in the Arts and Sciences, Nursing, Engineering and Non-Profit Management, among others.
In addition to learning from professors, depending on their major, students may study with professionals from the Cleveland Clinic, the Cleveland PlayHouse Theatre and the Cleveland Institute of Music, among other places.
Research is also an integral part of the Case Western educational experience, with thousands of undergraduates undertaking research in a range of disciplines every year.
The rich student life activity is, in great part, a result of the school’s location. With downtown Cleveland only a few miles away, students have museums, theatres, restaurants, shops and other activities at their fingertips.
The campus itself hosts a student-run radio station as well as more than 200 student organizations and clubs. Academic, religious, creative, special interest, volunteer and other types groups may all be found in Case’s list of student groups. Since students are given the option of starting their own clubs, there are new ones starting up all the time as well.
Highly competitive in its admissions, Case Western assesses a student’s academic performance through grades, test scores and other factors.
Financial aid is available to those who qualify. For more information, contact Case Western Reserve University.
