MICA Description

For prospective art students in Baltimore, Maryland, Institute College of Art is the place to be for both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Among the majors of study are Animation, Art History, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interaction Design and Art, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Video and Film Arts. Other concentrations include Creative Writing, Book Arts, and Culture and Politics.

You’d think that the comprehensive art programs would be enough to sustain the college, but the school also offers students services such as a learning resource center, writing studio, advising, professional development, student activities, and a wellness center.

The Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development has everything you need to begin your job hunt and possibly find employment. There is career counseling, an internship program, professional development workshops, art competition information, peer career advisors, and a resource library.

For tuition and educational expense assistance, the financial aid office has information on loans, grants, work-study, and many scholarships including need and merit-based aid and competitive scholarships such as the academic excellence scholarships, scholastic art awards, and over 50 others. These sources are available to students who qualify.
