The Akron School of Practical Nursing is an adult vocational education program offered to qualified applicants. The full-time day program lasts 41 weeks. Classes and clinicals are held Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The half-time evening and weekend program lasts 82 weeks. Classes are held from 5-9:30 p.m. on three or four weekday evenings. Clinical hours are during the day on weekends. A graduate is eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination to become a licensed practical nurse.

To start the admission process you need to pick up an application packet which is $10, fill out and return the application with $35 and schedule an entrance exam which is $35. Financial Aide is available to qualified applicants.
On September 30, 2001, the Akron School of Practical Nursing celebrated 50 years of nursing education. With the support of the Akron Board of Education and community members, this school was founded in 1951. To date, the school has over 4,000 graduates, many of whom remain in this area.
