Question: Is Evansville, Indiana a "cool" city?

I am looking at University of Evansville for college but it is important to me that my college is in a vibrant and interesting city with a lot to offer culturally. Is Evansville like that?

All places have advantages and diadvantages. If you want culturally interesting and vibrant (NYC, SF, Chicago,...big city) then you should go there and go broke trying to pay rent and deal with college tuition. If you want a sensible 'middle-class' experience, then Evansville is fine (so would Southern Illinios-Carbondale, Ball State University-Muncie IN)

Question: General question about University of Evansville in Indiana.?

Why does it not have in-state tuition? It mentions in the 'about' that it's affiliated with the Methodist Church. Does that mean it's a Methodist college? There's a Muslim club? It sounds like a private college. Is it? Thanks! Oh, sorry, I'm not Muslim. I was just saying "there's a muslim club" as a statement. I didn't mean to put a ? at the end. I'm Christian, but not methodist. I was wondering if it would be appropriate. I heard it's a great college.

The University of Evansville is a private college that has a relationship with the United Methodist Church. It has, however, always practice inclusiveness - you would not feel at all like a misfit if you are not a Methodist. (I worked there several decades ago and that was true even then.) You will find a description of the Muslim Students' Assn. at this site: http://msa.evansville.edu/PagesForMuslims/index1.html s

My mother went there--when it was Evansville College. She got graduate degrees elsewhere and wound up working for the State Dept and then teaching at Columbia University, so I guess Evansville gave her a good start. But a long time ago!

Question: compare university of evansville and university of arkansas for undergrad MECHANICAL engineering STUDIES?

basically i would like to know past record of the abovesaid universities based on which one is better from academic and job prospects point of view

Best Answer

Both are recognized as regional universities, but I think that Evansville's faculty has a greater reach in the journals, so if you are considering a Master's (as all engineers should), Evansville is more impressive. Where do you feel more comfortable?
