Averett University, Richmond
4880 Cox Rd # 101, Glen Allen, VA 23060
Description
Though originally a Baptist college, Averett University has since disassociated itself with that affiliation. Due to disagreements on homosexuality, the Baptist General Association of Virginia parted ways with Avarett. Since 2005, it has been a secular private university.Student life at Averett provides a variety of opportunities to get involved, with several student clubs, organizations, and Greek life. The university also has four residence halls and two apartment-style residential buildings, so there’s no plenty of on-campus housing.
Its main campus is located in Danville, but Averett maintains a dozen other locations. While most of the school’s academics are centered in Danville, the Richmond location includes the university’s Graduate and Professional Studies program.
The GPS program, which is designed for working adults, currently offers Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Education degrees. Students can also enroll in Averett’s independent study program, which includes the following degree programs:
*Business Administration
*Criminal Justice
*Sociology
*Sport Management
*Applied Science
With over 50 available courses, the independent study program is ideal for students who are unable to enroll in the more structured GPS programs. You can design your curriculum with an academic advisor, tailoring your education to your needs.
