Description

Haywood has many of the features you’d expect from a community college, including accessible educational opportunities with open admissions. What sets the college apart, though, is its diverse and unique academics.

Haywood Community College features a variety of diploma, certificate and associate’s degree programs, most of which are professionally oriented. Many unique major areas are available, including Fish & Wildlife Management, Forest Management and Professional Crafts. Haywood is also establishing programs in Sustainable Site Development and Diesel Engines.

Students looking to transfer to a four-year institution can enroll in Haywood’s “Alliance Programs,” which include three years of a bachelor’s degree program. Because the college has a transfer agreement with the University of North Carolina, you can transfer to a UNC campus for your fourth and final year of study.

All members of the community are welcome to take classes at Haywood. However, specific programs may have additional admissions requirements. To find out more, contact the department you’re interested in.

Various financial aid programs are available at Haywood Community College, including federal financial aid and scholarships funded by the HCC Foundation. Most of this assistance is need-based, so make sure you file a FAFSA in order to be eligible.
