Preparing students to pass the state licensing cosmetology exam and gain employment in the State of Oklahoma are the objectives of Virgil’s Beauty College (VBC) in Muskogee.

VBC academics cover the following subjects that are extensive and integral to success in the beauty industry:

• Bacteriology, sterilization, and sanitation for decontamination and infection control
• Electricity and light therapy
• Facial makeup and treatments
• Maintaining a professional image
• Running a salon business
• Sculpture and artificial nails
• Shampooing, rinses, conditioning, and draping
• Theory of massage

A comprehensive reference library filled with resources related to the cosmetology field is available to students to help them with their training. Modern technology such as audio-visual equipment is also used frequently at VBC to assist students with the learning process, and enhance the training experience.

The programs offered at VBC are Cosmetology, Cosmetology Instruction, and Manicuring. Course completion can take between 25 and 60 weeks, depending on the chosen program and desired career direction.

The school starts new programs frequently, and classes can be taken during the day between 8AM and 4PM.
