School Description

Provided by Bentley University

Bentley University is distinctive among U.S. and international universities in having two faculties, in business and in the arts and sciences, which are unified in their educational mission. Bentley may therefore be understood as a university within a business school — a university because of the character and scope of its education and research agendas, and a business school because of its orientation.

Bentley is dedicated to preparing a new kind of business leader — one with the deep technical skills, the broad global perspective and the high ethical standards required to make a difference in an ever-changing world. To achieve our goal, we infuse our advanced business curriculum with the richness of a liberal arts education. The results are graduates who are making an impact in their chosen fields and turning their passions into success stories.

Outstanding resources and a convenient location just 10 miles west of Boston make Bentley a choice destination for prospective students, participants in meetings and conferences, local community members, and other groups.

What’s the best way to describe the Bentley community? For starters, it’s close-knit, spirited, caring, multicultural, international, and driven. Students, faculty and staff share a commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom, and value personal responsibility and mutual support. At the same time, their different backgrounds, interests and goals keep members of the campus community learning from each other — and having fun in the process.

Campus is great, I'm looking to transfer there next year. Very nice area and not too far, but far enough from Boston. It is a typical college life and as far as a party school, you will find parties at any college you go to. The technology there is incredible and the layout of that campus is great. Overall it is a very nice school and great college atmosphere.

Congrats on your acceptance! I graduated from bentley recently and i have family mebers who graduated from GW. I would recommend Bentley as the networking over there is amazing. The school will help you with practically everything from writting resumes to how to dress. They offer you with numerous chances to attend their networking galas where you will have a chance to meet the top companies in the business world. Besides Bentley is much better known for business majors. In addition, the bentley alumni provide bentley kids with priority to work at their offices which are mostly successful.

Question: College choice for Theoretical Physics?

I am interested in becoming a theoretical physicists within academia. I would like to do research into the fundamental questions about reality and perhaps do some teaching at the college level. I am interested in the philosophical side of physics as well as the math so I am interested mostly in liberal arts colleges. Which college is the better choice for this path: Furman University, Clemson University, University of South Carolina Honors, or Oxford College of Emory University?

You have a few good colleges in that list. But Emory is the clear winner -- and not just by a little. (note -- this assumes you mean the Oxford College in the Southern US, and not Oxford University in the UK).

Bentley College is considered a good school for Business and Accounting. If you are looking to major in a business field it may be a good choice for you. However, there are many things to consider when looking for a college - cost, location, what is it near (Bentley is in Waltham MA close to Boston - so you can find lots of fun things like clubs, events and museums), class size and the campus atmosphere. Also, consider if you want to go to a graduate school after graduation such Harvard Business School for an M.B.A or Yale for Law. If this is your goal then find out how many of the colleges graduates get accepted into that type of program. Where to go to college is a big decision. Talk to your family and teachers, get some good advice. And, remember to shop around and look a lot of options to find the right school for you.
