Description
Many technical colleges can prepare students for careers, but only a few can boast strong ties to local businesses to help students find work after graduation. Gateway Technical College is one of those few. With three main campuses and four Advanced Technology Centers, Gateway strives to provide quality training and education for Wisconsin students within Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties.
Additionally, Gateway provides many distance learning opportunities.
Students can choose from over 65 career training programs in six different programs:
- Advanced technical certificate programs in fields like Computer Animation, Multimedia, Network Security, and Financial Planning
- Apprenticeship programs in Cosmetology, Bricklaying, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry and more
- Associate’s degree programs in everything from Accounting to Electronics to Surgical Technology, many of which can transfer to Wisconsin four-year univerisites.
- Diploma programs in fields like Automotive Maintenance, Cosmetology, EMT, and Welding
- Gateway certificate programs in over 30 fields
- General studies transfer programs that allow students to earn a 30-credit certificate that will transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside
Students who qualify may receive financial aid in three major forms: grants, loans, and work-study. Traditional student services such as flexible scheduling and career counseling are also available.
