Question: which comm college is better brookdale in NJ, or Southern union in AL. Does it really matter which 1 I pick?

i am thinking about attending community college. I have the choice to go to brookdale community college in New Jersey or Southern Union State community college in Alabama. Brookdale is slightly more expensive than southern union but both offer all of the same courses. Does it matter what school I go to? Will it matter later when i want to get into university? I want the best education that I can get, and I want to be successful in life. I am a good student with a B average. Thanks for the help everyone.

What type of program did you want to go in to? I would suggest going to the school which has internships/extra curricular activities/etc. in the field you are interested in (and if not at the school, then at least in the surrounding area). Getting involved in the community college level and then doing very exceptionally well in your classes gives you a great chance at getting great scholarships and admission to some of the best universities out there. There are a lot of students who non-traditionally attend "prestigious" schools such as Columbia, Boston, Stanford, MIT, USC, etc. from community college. I wouldn't really worry about your chances as a competitive applicant to a 4 year after your community college tenure. You'll have a decent chance if you have good grades, are slightly involved, and have a great passion for the field you are pursuing. Good luck on your future endeavors!
