Provided by Beacon CollegeThe mission of Beacon College is to offer academic degree programs to students with learning disabilities.
The concept for Beacon was put forth by a group of parents concerned about higher education opportunities for students with learning disabilities. Responding to this concern, the initial trustees founded Beacon College. The College embraces the student with learning disabilities by providing educational opportunities that acknowledge individual learning differences.
As a student at Beacon College, you will come to understand your learning disability in ways you never have before. From there, you'll discover the way you learn best and use suggested strategies to optimize your strengths in the classroom. All of this will be done alongside other high-achieving students from across the country whose learning experiences, to this point, have been very similar to yours. At the same time, Beacon College will offer you a fun, supportive, collegiate atmosphere that recognizes accomplishment, fosters lifelong friendships, and prepares you for personal and professional success!
The Beacon College campus is located in historic downtown Leesburg. Main Street is lined with classic historical buildings, a new public library, quaint restaurants, gift shops, antique stores and a variety of local businesses.
