For over 60 years, Ricci’s Salon & Spa has provided beauty services for the citizens of Newtown, Connecticut. A more recent part of this tradition is the salon’s academy, which trains aspiring cosmetologists for careers in the beauty industry. Ricci’s Academy of Cosmetology has offered state-of-the-art instruction since 2008.
Despite its brief history, Ricci’s Academy’s academics are quite thorough. The school offers three courses: Hairdressing/Cosmetology, Traditional Barbering, and Spa Training.
One of the benefits of studying at Ricci’s Academy is that it’s an actual salon in addition to a training center. As you study, you’ll get a sense of what it’s like to work in a salon environment. This applies to the barbering course, as well, which is taught at Ricci’s Hero Barbering Academy.
Courses start monthly, and scheduling is flexible. You can study full-time and complete your training in 9 months, or you can study part-time during days or nights and finish in 12 or 18 months, respectively.
Both Ricci’s Academy and the Hero Academy also offer advanced training for currently licensed barbers and cosmetologists. These brief refresher courses also begin monthly, and you can pay for them per session.
